Job summary: Operate the controls on the free-floating screed attached to the paver vehicle to control the quantity and consistency of asphalt being laid.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operate valves to regulate flow of asphalt at a specified rate.
Signals asphalt paving machine operator to start and stop paving machine.
Observes distribution of material over road surfaces to ensure uniform distribution.
Turns handwheels to set angle and depth of screed.
Uses depth gauge, verifies depth specifications of compacted asphalt.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of paving equipment and paving process.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Ability to do manual labor.
